This is a blog for the Centre for Values, Ethics and the Law in Medicine (VELiM).
VELIM is an independent centre of the University Sydney associated with Sydney Medical School.
The Centre was first established in 1995 by Australian philosopher, surgeon and poet Miles Little, and has since gained an international reputation for its innovative approach to research, education, consultation and community outreach activities.
Researchers and teachers at VELiM seek to stimulate creative thought, dialogue and action by engaging different disciplinary perspectives including medicine and science, public health, philosophy, ethics and bioethics, sociology, social linguistics, psychology, history and law.
